WHAT IS GOD’S WORD?

Psalm 119:105-106 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.

  1. God’s word is INSPIRED

    • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

  2. God’s word is INFALLIBLE

  3. God’s word is JESUS

    • John 1:1-4 “In the beginning, the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He existed in the beginning with God. 3God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.”

  4. God’s Word is WRITTEN

WAYS TO ACTIVATE THE WORD OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE

  1. Make God’s word a priority

    • Use a reading plan. The YouVersin Bible App is a great resource for this.

    • Find a translation that’s easy to read. We suggest the following translations NLT, ESV, NIV, NASB.

  2. Believe what you read

    • Romans 10:17 NIV Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ.

  3. Meditate on scripture

  4. Obey and practice what you read

    • James 1:22 NLT But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling or deceiving yourselves.
